Education Minister Postpones Reopening Of Schools Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

Gujrat government decided to postpone reopening of school amidst COVID-19 rising cases. Earlier Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced opening educational institutions in the state for Classes 9 to 12 from November 23.

An urgent departmental meeting was held and the education minister asked to prepare SOPs for the reopening of schools.

Now, after the postponement, schools in Gujarat will continue to remain closed. The action was taken after around 1340 fresh cases has been reported in Gujarat in last 24 hours. Taking the total tally chasing close to 2 lac.

“Gujarat Government decides to postpone the reopening of schools and colleges in Gujarat from November 23 in the wake of the current Coronavirus situation,” Chief Minister Office (CMO)
