After gaining a couple of years of experience, the salary of the general manager can be very high around 2-3 lac per month. As a fresher, you can expect an average starting salary somewhere around 30-55k per month plus the incentives and perks you’ll get will be an added bonus. Housekeeping supervisors and front office supervisors can earn about 35-45k after two or more years of experience. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, hotel managers are paid attractive bonuses and commissions too.

Cons: The working hours might not suit everyone, as it’s not a 9-5 job. You’ll have to be on your toes every single day, it’s a physically demanding environment. It’s difficult to please every guest, you’ll need high tolerance and patience power. Starting salary in a low budget hotel might be below. As a trainee, you’ll be exposed to pretty much every job which you might not like.
